These are a few breakfast ideas, if you are looking for some variety, away from
cereal and pop tarts:
Grands biscuits--bake
them, cut them in half, then add a fried egg, piece of cheese, a dash of pepper, and mayo or ketchup if preferred.
Cube
and boil a large batch of potatoes ahead of time(I make enough to last several days). Also cube a large piece of ham(I
use the kind that comes in a "loaf" like what you see at the deli).
During the week, heat up a portion of the potatoes in a pan with butter(however much you need
for the number of people you are feeding), add some ham, and in a seperate pan, fry up some eggs. Have toast if desired.
This may sound odd, but try it! It's delicious, and very filling!
You
need:
Cinnamon raisin bagels
Eggs
American
sliced cheese
Ketchup
Mayo
Toast bagel
Make a fried egg(I like mine over easy-and yes, it will drip, so you need to
eat over a plate!)
Add piece of cheese to top of
eggs
Add ketchup AND mayo to bagel
Put egg on bagel and make it a sandwhich
Delicious!
Get
out the griddle and make a large batch of medium sized pancakes. When each pancake is done, put on a cookie sheet. When
cookie sheet is full, stick it in the freezer for about 20 minutes. This is called "flash freezing". Once
the pancakes are frozen, use a spatula to remove from cookie sheet, and put in freezer baggie or storage container, and put
back in the freezer.
Flash freezing prevents the pancakes from sticking together and causing you
to have a huge lump of bread! During the week, take out as many as you need for a serving, stick on a plate and microwave.
Much faster, and you save time from having to wash your griddle and clean up when you make a large batch at one time.
This
has become a delicious treat in my home, a favorite to hear that we are having it! I've even served it for an early
Sunday dinner after church!
You need:
Texas
toast bread(I looked in all of our grocery stores and could not find Texas toast bread, so I substituted with potato bread)
Sliced ham
Muenster
cheese slices
Eggs
Liquid vanilla coffee creamer
In a medium size bowl, depending on
the amount you are making, you need enough eggs to cover all of the sandwiches you will be making. I have a family of
5, so I use about 5 or 6 eggs. Add 1/2 cup vanilla creamer to your eggs and mix well.
Put a piece of sliced ham and a piece of muenster cheese in between two bread slices.
Dip in the egg/creamer mixture.
Fry in buttered pan or griddle on medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side.
Add
raspberry jam, powdered sugar, or syrup lightly over your finished sandwhich.
Serve with
fried potatoes on the side.
Delicious!!!
